Hi, thanks for closing this DR, you forgot to delete the second nominated file. Best, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 18:59, 22 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Oops. Thanks for catching that. DMacks (talk) 20:17, 22 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Commons:WikiProject Chemistry/Deletion requests

[edit]

Hi, could you close the oldest DRs there? I have nominated a bunch of files as fake SVGs and replaced them with equivalent versions. And since they were opened more than 7 days ago and the cases are pretty straightforward, they can be closed. Best, ChemSim (talk) 18:21, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

The factual accuracy of the chemical structure File:GS-6207.png is disputed

[edit]
Dispute notification The chemical structure File:GS-6207.png you uploaded has been tagged as disputed and is now listed in Category:Disputed chemical diagrams. Files in this category are deleted after one month if there is no upload of a corrected version and if there is no objection from the uploader or other users. Please discuss on the file talk page if you feel that the dispute is inappropriate. If you agree with the dispute, you can either upload a corrected version or simply allow the file to be deleted.

In all cases, please do not take the dispute personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! --mykhal (talk) 09:28, 21 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for checking over it, User:Mykhal. That indeed does not match the refs. Looks like a hybrid of GS-6207 (with the trifluoromethyls) and GS-CA1 (with the cyclopropanesulfonamide). We already have correct (per refs) diagrams of each of those two chemicals, so this one should be deleted. DMacks (talk) 10:00, 21 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Heya

[edit]

Hey sorry for the commercial dispute thing, are u sure we should delete the commercial until we have evidence from like a master tape? Just wondering, i know many commercials pre-December 1981 are undenibly in the public domain cause of no notice and any other work i posted is in the public domain due to renewal failures.

I uploaded Doug's commercial cause many other 1980s commercials are on Wikisource and i was a bit confused on his status. ZigZagTheTigerSkunk (talk) 02:50, 13 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

I think US copyright of that era is one of the most confusing (legally) and difficult to diagnose (finding evidence). I don't have any further information unfortunately. DMacks (talk) 08:11, 13 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
i mean, it does say on other sites such as this Copyright Term and the Public Domain - Copyright Services - LibGuides at Cornell University That works with no notice and no registration within 5 years can become public domain before 1989 ZigZagTheTigerSkunk (talk) 08:20, 13 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I know that. We even have that chart here on Commons: COM:HIRTLE. DMacks (talk) 08:40, 13 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah,
I'll try to maybe in the future try to find a expert TV archivist to help with this research on Post-1981 tv ads. ZigZagTheTigerSkunk (talk) 10:38, 13 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
